Ski Bunny’s music blends funk and rock influences into soulful, hard-driving riffs that convey an astonishing range of feelings. Tracy’s bass lines are melodic, raw, mean and gentle all at once. Neeney’s guitar adds crunchy, grinding rhythm and provocative leads and Matt’s drums command the beat with funk, punk, and intense power. Tracy’s lyrics, brutally honest and refreshingly blunt, complement the tunes eloquently with compelling imagery and stories that describe her unique perspective on everything from sex, drugs, and rock and roll to family relationships, mental illness, and personal redemption. The band counts Alice in Chains, James Brown, The Commodores, The Gits, Joan Jett, Kyuss, Prince, and Soundgarden among their major influences.
Ski Bunny has been featured on local television and radio, including Cambridge Community Television, 91.5 WMFO’s On the Town with Mikey Dee, and numerous times on Boston’s WEMF. They’ve performed around the Boston, Cambridge and Somerville area regularly to great acclaim with bands like The Guilloteenagers, The Lights Out, Happy Little Clouds, and other amazing Boston-area bands.
